Kurt Salmon Associates' Global Sourcing Reference has been published regularly since 1991 and is a valuable guide for effective cost management in sourcing. The 2009 edition gives retailers and consumer goods manufacturers essential insights into current sourcing developments and future trends, and provides a solid benchmarking of the competitive position of their own sourcing.
The survey has proven itself a successful guide for leading companies in the past. It includes production and logistics costs for apparel in more than 60 major sourcing countries. In addition, the 2009 edition includes for the first time an analysis on the sourcing countries and their requirements in the area of hard goods. The quantitative analysis is based on surveys conducted with more than 100 executives from retail and consumer goods companies, interviews on trends and strategies with global sourcing experts, and a detailed comparison between the sourcing regions of China and India.
In the current economic environment with decreasing sales and capital reductions, a stablisation of gross profit and supply chain cost reduction are key. Our experience shows that sourcing strategies have to be reviewed more often and more thoroughly now. Instead of implementing an isolated sourcing solution, a holistic approach is required to realise sustainable cost reductions.
The survey is available via our European Offices and costs €450 plus VAT. Please send us an email for further information on the 2009 Global Sourcing Reference.
